Beginning of September is the most ideal moment to see the extreme beauty of the paddy fields! Pick-up at the airport in Hanoi will be arranged in the morning and we will be transferred to Hanoi for a relaxing but very exciting walking trip through the city.  From the Old Quarters to Nguyen Huu Huan Street, from Hang Bac Street to Hang Buom Street, Zoom will take us places where we can experience things as locals do. We’ll get the chance to taste local foods and beverages, like Xoi Xeo and Cafe Trung. The famous Water Puppet Show is also on the programme. After our walking tour we will freshen up in the hotel before having dinner. Those who still feel the urge to explore more of Hanoi can do so at night, because Hanoi is truly wonderful during the night. The next morning we will be transferred to Pu Luong Nature Reserve - the perfect environment to witness the idyllic Vietnamese landscape and rural life.  Pu Luong Nature Reserve really impresses and is considered by many to be an area of outstanding natural beauty. We’ll see rice terraces carpeting the hillsides and villages hidden at the edges of thick forests. We stay in wooden houses on stilts - traditional homes of the Thai – one of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minorities. They may be basic, but you don’t get the chance to stay in one of these every day, sharing your meals with the host families. We trek on trails less travelled with luminous-green rice fields extending from the waters’ edge to the thickly-forested slopes. After spending three days in the Pu Luong Nature Reserve, we will return back to Hanoi. The same night we will take the night train to Lao Cai where we will arrive around 5:30am. We will be transferred to Sapa. After settling in in a local hotel, we will walk to the minority tribal villages: Ta Phin commune southeast of Sapa town, home to the Red Zao and Black H'mong ethnic groups. Although living close to each other for years, these two ethnic peoples are very different. We will have lunch at the village. The next two days we have two options: Option A: We start the climb of Mount Fansipan. A trek of 5 to 6 hours through different kinds of forest and jungle until we reach the campsite at an altitude of 2,800 meters. We will overnight in tents or a shelter. The following day we'll head for the summit, which will take about 2 ½ hours. When we reach the top (3,143m) and the weather is clear we will have a panoramic view of the valley and Sapa as well.  We'll descend and then hike to Sin Chai village using another trail. In Sin Chai, we will be transferred back to Sapa by car. Overnight stay in hotel. Option B: The hidden trail to a village of Red Dao with spectacular landscapes of Trung Chai, Ta Phin and Ma Tra valley. It also focuses more on the various ethnic groups, like Red Zao and Black H’mong. The first day we will hike to Taphin via Mong Sen. We will stay at homestay. The following day we hike an untouched trail through Red Dao of Ban Khoang village. Around noon we will reach the road. We will be transferred to Silver Waterfall and to Heaven’s Gate where you can see Mount Fansipan in the distance. Afterwards transfer to Sapa. On day 8 we’ll discover Sapa and the surrounding villages by motorbike. A truly amazing experience. After lunch we will be transferred to Lao Cai where we will catch the night train to Hanoi. In fact almost all you need is included in this package: all transportation between arrival at the airport and departure, accommodation in hotel (twin sharing), camping equipment (tent, mats, sleeping bag, lighting), cooking and dining equipment, meals (from breakfast on day 1 till breakfast on day 9), climbing permit and entrance fees, certificate of participation.
